IOL solutions for long-sight and short-sight

For some people, laser treatment may not be the best long-term solution to their visual problems. This may be because you have a high prescription, or thin corneas, or because you have early signs of cataract. In these situations IOL treatments offer a much more effective and long-term solution.

Intraocular lens treatments using RLE allow us to correct much higher levels of  long-sight than is possible with laser treatments.

High levels of short-sight can be corrected using several IOL treatments, that include Phakic lenses (ICL) or RLE

A consultation with Mark, our surgeon, prior to your treatment will allow us to decide on the best treatment solution for your individual needs.

IOL solutions for astigmatism

Our investment in the Technolas 217 eximer laser, and the experience of our surgeon, Mark Wevill, allows us to correct high levels of astigmatism (up to 6 dioptres) using laser treatment.

However, if you have a high level of astigmatism as well as a complex prescription or thin corneas, the best results may given by a toric IOL treatment.

For some people, a combination of an IOL  and laser treatment to correct astigmatism may also be the ideal solution.

Several possibilities – which one will be best for you? A consultation with Lesley, our experienced optometrist and Mark, our surgeon, will give you the chance to discuss the options and decide on the best treatment solution for your individual needs.
