At the beginning of August we held a networking open evening to enlighten people about the Invisalign treatment we offer. The talk was short and sweet, important information gleaned, gathered and talked about. We decided to put together the FAQs from the talk for anyone who couldn’t make it.
How long does it take?
There really isn’t one answer for this as each case is individual, but the timescale we give is this; it can take as little as 6 months for minor movements, but can take up to as much as years for larger treatments – there are NO quick fix
How many different aligners will a person need?
Again, this is all down to each individual case, however patients will need to replace the aligner every 2 weeks as the change in the position of teeth is a quick one, and after around two weeks the aligner will start to break down.
How does it work?
We take an impression of your teeth with putty like mold and we send it off to America, where the Invisalign team make a 3D digital representation of your teeth as they are, and the multiple changes that will take place over the next few months.
Can invisalign close gaps?
Invisalign can close gaps, it may be a slower process to move each of the teeth but it can certainly be done!
Can you eat with the aligners in?
You should to remove the aligners to eat and we recommend if possible that you brush and floss your teeth before replacing the aligner.
The event was such a success we look forward to hosting more opening evenings in the near future on the other cosmetic services we provide, so watch this Space!
